Week 18 Analysis and Prediction

Week 18: Tampa Bay at Washington

  • Site: FedEx Field, Landover, MD
  • Time: Saturday, Jan. 9, 8:15 p.m. ET

Can the Washington Football Team take their late-season surge and ride the wave of success to a playoff victory on Saturday?  It will not be easy.

More from Commanders News

Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady has a lot of playoff experience and the Buccaneers have very talented roster.  Washington would love to give Brady a rare playoff loss, but the home team will need to play mistake-free football and take advantage of every opportunity that is given to them in this game.

The game becomes a field goal contest in the first half, but Washington’s defense in the second half is able to keep the team close.  Taylor Heinicke enters the game halfway into the third quarter and provides a spark.  The leg of Dustin Hopkins is the difference as he connects on five field goals Saturday night.

Players who will shine on Saturday include Taylor Heinicke, Daron Payne, Chase Young, Logan Thomas, Cole Holcomb, J.D. McKissic, Ronald Darby, and Kamren Curl.

Prediction:  Washington 22, Tampa Bay 19

Personal Record: 6-10
