Positive 3

Jon Bostic has produced a mixed bag of games this season.  There have been some good games and some to forget.

Sunday’s game was quietly one of his best of the 2020 season.  With eight tackles (one for a loss), one sack, and two quarterback hits, Bostic was a key factor in holding the Eagles scoreless in the second half.

A quick note about Bostic:  At times, we have been critical of his play this season and praiseworthy as well.  His contract is very team-friendly and he should be retained in 2021.  At the very least, he can provide solid depth and experience for what will likely become a revamped linebacker corps next season.

Bostic was a positive on Sunday and another solid game from him vs. the Buccaneers on Saturday night is needed.

Negative 3

The Washington Football Team was fortunate to win the division last week.  A depleted Eagles team was ripe for the picking and Washington simply didn’t take advantage of the opportunity to manhandle the team in green.  For the second week in a row, we are listing the coaching staff as a negative.

Taylor Heinicke would’ve given the offense a better chance to score points and put a comfortable lead in place late in the game.  If the situation on Saturday is the same or similar, Heinicke needs to be ready and the coaching staff should make that decision when the moment presents itself.
