4. The Reality Is, the defense is going to have to step up… again.

If my expectations for the offense this week are correct, then it will be almost exclusively on the defense to pull out this win.

It’s totally unreasonable to expect two defensive scores again, but they are going to have to dominate this game from the very first snap if Washington is going to have a chance. The defensive line is going to have to pressure and contain Russell Wilson. The secondary is going to have to avoid big plays, and Kamren Curl and the linebackers are going to have to tackle exceptionally well in space.

With Deshazor Everett lost to chest surgery, there is no room for any more defensive players to get nicked up. Kamren Curl and Jeremy Reaves are going to have to hold down the safety position, and the rest of the defense is going to have to play gap and assignment sound, but live on the edge of aggressive and reckless.

My Prediction: Led by Jon Allen, Montez Sweat, Chase Young, and Daron Payne, this defense delivers another impressive performance. Seattle is too good to be totally shut down, but I expect something much more similar to their production against the Giants two weeks ago than their performance last week against the Jets.
