Washington Football Team Dud: CB Kendall Fuller

The Washington defense played well against the Steelers, but there were some lowlights. A couple of them were committed by none other than Kendall Fuller.

Fuller has had a good year for Washington, but his day against Pittsburgh left a lot to be desired. Fuller was in coverage on Diontae Johnson on the Steelers’ first touchdown of the day. He wasn’t necessarily bad on the red-zone play, but he did get beat by Johnson because of his quickness.

The worse of the two touchdowns Fuller surrendered came when he was in coverage against James Washington. On the play, Fuller allowed Washington to make a catch and then proceeded to miss a tackle against him. After that, Washington scampered down the field easily into the end-zone for the 50-yard score. At the time, that put Pittsburgh up 14-0.

Fuller was better down the stretch, but his first-half performance just wasn’t that great. We won’t dwell on this for too long, but Fuller will need to clean up his coverage just a little bit and make plays to stop scores. Most importantly though, he needs to not allow another touchdown like the one he did against James Washington.
