5. The Reality Is, only a perfect game by Washington will beat Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is light-years better than anyone Washington has played in over a month. Their defensive line is relentless. Their safety play is superb. Their offense is loaded with talent.

If Washington is to win this game, they will need to eliminate massive mistakes like turnovers and roughing the passer. They will need to make a few explosive plays either on offense, defense, and special teams. They will need to push all the right buttons on the coaching front.

Can Washington beat Pittsburgh on “Any Given Sunday”? Yes. But can they on this particular Monday afternoon? We’ll see.

My Prediction: Washington looks like a good and competent football team, but is ultimately too overmatched to pull off this upset. They will manage to stay “within reach” for the majority of the game, but will end up falling just short.

Pittsburgh is an 8 point favorite, and Washington will fall just short of covering, ultimately losing 26-17.
