Offensive Players

Antonio Gibson

Antonio Gibson is now the undisputed feature running back in Washington’s versatile offense and he is amongst the top rookies in the league for any position.  Gibson continues to be a bonafide weapon, not only as a running back, but also as a receiving back.  The Memphis Tigers star is a threat to score at any moment and he is able to move the chains consistently.

Gibson was able to produce 115 yards rushing on Thursday while averaging just under six yards a carry.  He also tacked on five receptions for 21 yards.  However, his largest impact came from three sensational rushes for touchdowns, including two gems in the fourth quarter that put the game on ice.  For his efforts on Thursday, Antonio Gibson is awarded the first game ball.

Terry McLaurin

What else can be said about Terry McLaurin?  We could use every glowing adjective in the dictionary, but all those words can’t fully describe the brilliance that is No. 17.  Before we get to the numbers, let’s talk about McLaurin’s speed and tackling skills.  You know the play.  You saw it happen.  Fans will be talking about it for the rest of the season.  It is quite possible that it will be the “play of the year” for Washington in 2020.  Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith was on his way to an easy 47 yard pick-six touchdown early in the second half.  He made it 43 yards before McLaurin chased him down and the home team had to settle for a field goal a few plays later.  That is the brilliance of Terry McLaurin.

McLaurin now has 963 yards on 69 receptions in 2020.  He is on pace to post totals of 1,401 yards and 101 receptions this season.  Is he destined to be named an All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl?  Stay tuned – there are five games for McLaurin to make his mark in 2020.  For his efforts against the Cowboys, Terry McLaurin is awarded the second game ball.
