Washington Football Team Stud: CB Ronald Darby

Ronald Darby had his share of issues at the outset of the season, but as the season has gone along, he has been great for the Washington Football Team. His strong play continued against the Bengals.

Save for a dropped interception in the end-zone, Darby was excellent against the Bengals. He was able to get his hands on four passes, a career-high number, and made countless plays during the contest.

Among his best plays was a pass breakup when he managed to perfectly time a jump and impact Tee Higgins near the end-zone. It prevented the talented receiver from making a play on the ball and was a smooth play overall.

Darby showed great recovery speed on downfield, recovered a fumble, and added six tackles on the day. He was a force in the team’s secondary and looks like a great partner for Kendall Fuller and right now, he’s the second-best player in Washington’s secondary. And on Sunday, Darby was the best player on the field.

If Darby can continue to play like this, he will boost Washington’s chances of winning the NFC East. At the very least, Washington has to continue re-signing him after this season. It looks like he’s back to the form that made him an effective starter during his early days with the Bills and Eagles.
