4. The Reality Is, Joe Burrow and Chase Young will always be linked.

When players go first and second in any given draft, their careers are perpetually linked. When they were both Heisman finalists, there’s even more intrigue. Stories are written about their accomplishments and how lucky one team was to end up with one of them or how dumb one team was to pass on the other.

It’s often overdone, frankly. To compare the long-term success of a defensive end and a quarterback is an absurd exercise.

However, there’s no denying that regardless of which direction their career paths end up going, the topic will continue to be covered from every angle. And they both know that, so you have to believe there’s a little extra motivation for each of them going into this week.

More from Commanders News

Young needs a bounce-back performance this week after his worst performance of the year in Week 10. Meanwhile, Burrow has looked the part in spite of his team’s 2-6-1 record. With both of their teams in evaluation and development mode for all intents and purposes the rest of the way out, both franchises will be looking to see if these two can show steady improvement and progress in the coming weeks.

Fans are mostly looking for some more sacks from Chase Young and some more touchdowns from Burrow.

My Prediction: These two will end up being one of the best 1-2 tandems in NFL Draft history, with both making multiple Pro Bowls. Chase Young will end up being the better player, as All-Pro and DPOY are very likely in his future, but given the value of the position, Cincinnati will never regret choosing Burrow over Young. Young is going to get a sack on Burrow this week. He’s due.
