Washington Football Team studs and duds from Week 10 loss

Dud No. 3 – Early offensive miscues
Whatever the reason, the Washington Football Team simply has an inability to start fast on offense. They’re the only team in the league that has yet to score on their first offensive possession this season. Every other team has; yes, even the Jets.
The blame can be sorted around to various people, but amidst all the other factors, one thing Washington simply can’t have is turnovers. When they occur at the beginning of a drive, turnovers give the opposition favorable field position, and when they occur at the end of a drive, turnovers kill any momentum that might have been previously generated.
Early in this game, a very uncharacteristic turnover was committed by Terry McLaurin, who fumbled the ball across the Lions’ 50-yard line after getting sandwiched by multiple defenders. McLaurin went on to have a great game in spite of that turnover, but the fumble might have cost Washington, at the very least, three points in a three-point game.
Of course, while McLaurin’s fumble was the lowlight, there were other offensive miscues: Miscommunication, bad sacks taken, et cetera. It’s up to Scott Turner and the offensive leaders to polish things up at some point, because the inconsistency with overall execution on offense is hurting the team.
