Stud No. 3 – TE Logan Thomas

Remember what I said for Cam Sims? Ditto for Logan Thomas.

Okay, not exactly; there are some key differences in the storyline here. Cam Sims is just 24 years old and just now emerging as a potential offensive threat, while Logan Thomas is a long-time journeyman at the tight end position. But both are still finding their footing as pass-catchers for the Washington Football Team, and both are starting to show major progress.

For Thomas, Week 10 was another career outing; he logged a career-high 66 receiving yards on four receptions, and while he didn’t find the end zone this time around, he made a similar impact as Sims, hauling in tough contested catches to move the chains for Washington’s offense.

The Logan Thomas experiment has had its bumps along the way, but Thomas has legitimately developed into a solid option at tight end, and while he’s still learning the nuances of route running, and still shows a quarterback-esque passiveness at times, he’s taking steps forward each week, and Week 10 might have been his most consistent outing yet.

Thomas now has 28 catches for 302 yards and three touchdowns through nine games, and through the past four weeks, he has 14 receptions for 196 yards and two scores. Is he one of the best at his position? No, but Thomas has provided competence, and that alone is a step up from 2019.
