Three keys to victory for the Washington Football Team vs. Lions
Limit turnovers
Here is the biggest key in all caps: DON’T TURNOVER THE BALL. It is that simple. This offense cannot turnover the ball; it is not good enough yet to overcome that. A performance of the five-turnover outing they had against the Giants cannot be repeated.
You cannot let a potential 20-yard catch from Antonio Gibson turn into a fumble sequence that will be on the NFL bloopers highlight reel for years to come. And you cannot repeat two straight Alex Smith interceptions on potential game-winning drives.
The offense, and their kick and punt returners for that matter, have to protect the ball. Quit putting the defense in poor situations and protect the ball. If the Washington Football Team simply doesn’t turn the ball over they give their defense a chance. The defense has too many playmakers to not make a game-changing play. That becomes null and void if the offense begins a turnover fest.
Simply put: protect the ball. This offense is not talented enough to overcome them.
If the Washington Football Team’s offense starts fast, the defensive line generates pressure and limits turnovers they set themselves up well to defeat the Detroit Lions.
