Washington Football Team: Grading the offensive line through Week 9
LT Cornelius Lucas
Cornelius Lucas has only appeared in two games. He has not been spectacular. Yet he was apart of the line that dismantled the Cowboys so he grades slightly higher than Christian. He also did not allow a pressure in either the Dallas game or against New York.
However, he is by no means the answer at left tackle.
Lucas is slow-footed and too often gets easily beaten around the edge. A quick release by the quarterback on the play protects him sometimes. He can occasionally make up for it, with his long arms and his huge frame but in space, he is below average. Lucas, like Christian, is just solid depth.
The Washington Football Team will have to address the left tackle position in the offseason since neither Lucas nor Christian appears to be the answer at the position.
