Should the Washington Football Team sign Dak Prescott?

We’ve kept you in suspense long enough.  Dak Prescott is the quarterback for Dallas and he suffered a devastating injury earlier in the season.  Why should Prescott be an offseason target?  Is he a quarterback with the “it” factor?

Dak Prescott impressed as a rookie in 2016 and surprised many analysts.  The fourth-rounder from Mississippi St. took command from day one and quickly became a leader on and off the field.  There is no doubt – the Cowboys snagged a winner.  Teammates loved him from the first day in training camp and as he led the team to a 13-3 record.

Prescott struggled at times in his second and third seasons, but 2019 was better and he was establishing his credentials as a franchise quarterback.  2020 has suddenly become a strong testament to his talents and leadership assets.

Dallas faced a brutal schedule early in the season and Prescott had them playing at a competitive level.  Since Prescott’s season-ending injury, the Cowboys have collapsed into one of the league’s worst teams.  This is the impact that Dak Prescott has in Dallas.

Knowing how Prescott can change Dallas’ fortunes for the good, it is unknown why the team refuses to give him a long-term deal.  It’s truly perplexing.  He is a winner and a great team leader.  The chances of him hitting free agency in 2021 continue to increase.

Should the Washington Football Team’s front office pursue Prescott during the upcoming offseason?  Absolutely!  When was the last time Washington had such a combination of talent and leadership at quarterback?  Yes, you make a run at Dak Prescott next spring.  He’s young and the former Bulldog will be anxious to get back on the field after his injury heals.
