2. Washington sacks Daniel Jones eight times

In the season opener against the Eagles, Washington’s defensive line had their best game of the season. They got pressure relentlessly on Carson Wentz, who was playing behind a very banged-up offensive line. That pressure was a massive difference-maker in the game and allowed them to come from 17 down to earn the win.

In Week 6, they will have a chance to do the same. The Giants’ offensive line has been a massive disappointment so far this year. First-round pick Andrew Thomas has struggled at left tackle and the interior offensive line hasn’t played nearly as well as expected. The result? Daniel Jones has been sacked 16 times through five games.

Washington will have a chance to get plenty of pressure on Jones because of their advantage in this area. At the very least, they’ll make Jones uncomfortable in the pocket and force him into some bad throws. And if things break in their favor, they could hit the QB a lot.

This game feels very similar to the Eagles contest in Week 1. Washington has the advantage here and between Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, and Daron Payne, they’ll absolutely find a way to get to Jones. In fact, it frankly should be a repeat of Week 1 for them if they come in with the right game plan.

For that reason, we’re predicting eight sacks for Washington in this contest. That’s certainly a lofty goal, but it’s exactly what they logged in Week 1. It’s doable for them and if Jones continues to hold onto the ball for too long as he’s wont to do, Young, Sweat, and Co. will make him pay.

Getting pressure is the biggest key for Washington in this game. Jack Del Rio and Ron Rivera know this, so expect them to have an aggressive game plan in place for the defensive line.
