Score Prediction

I’d love to sit here and tell you that Washington will catch Los Angeles off guard by changing quarterbacks, but until Kyle Allen proves otherwise, he’s still an extremely inconsistent and volatile player.

Allen’s understanding of the offense will lend Washington better execution at quarterback, but better than 2020 Haskins is a low bar, and with the almost guaranteed pressure from Aaron Donald, Allen will make mistakes.

If there’s a silver lining, it’s that the Rams’ run defense has, at best, been average this season, and Antonio Gibson is already proving to be one of the league’s better players when it comes to generating yards after contact. If Washington can give Gibson some space, there’s a chance he could have a big game this weekend.

Still, as desperate as the Washington Football Team is for a win, I don’t see it. The Rams are just a better team overall. Jared Goff is rebounding, they have an innovative coaching staff, and they also can’t afford to waste games; the NFC West is the strongest division in football, and a loss to Washington could end up being the difference for the Rams in the playoff race.

Kyle Allen went 4-0 in his first four games in 2019, but he won’t get that chance this year. The offense will have a bit more production, but familiar turnovers and poorly-timed mistakes will grant them defeat yet again.

Score Prediction: LAR 29, WAS 20
