No. 1 – QB Dwayne Haskins

“Haskins Watch” is officially a weekly event, as Dwayne Haskins has struggled to get up to speed through three weeks this season. Week 3 was a new low for the young quarterback, as he was frequently the root of the offensive problems.

Ron Rivera reaffirmed his confidence in Haskins on game day, but just a day later, Rivera acknowledged that, with Washington competing for the NFC East, there is a “cut-off point” for Haskins if he continues to struggle.

As for where Haskins’ struggles have been most prevalent, that answer is wide-ranging. Haskins has had trouble trusting his reads. He’s lacked confidence in his line, and his mechanics have been far too sloppy and inconsistent, which has led to frequent inaccuracy.

Entering Week 4, Haskins is objectively one of the league’s worst passers, and while there’s still time to change that, he can’t go on being as streaky as he was last week. With Rivera having specified that Haskins is not immune to underperformance, Haskins has to be proactive in righting the ship, and that starts this week.
