Score prediction

This matchup is just not a good one for Washington. The Ravens had the best record in the AFC last year and were probably the second-best team in the conference and, maybe, the NFL. They’re a little weaker than they were last year, but they still have a lot of elite talent.

And hey, when you’re facing a reigning MVP that may be the best quarterback scrambler since Michael Vick playing quarterback, that’s hard to contain. Especially for a defense that is missing two key players.

The game against Baltimore could get ugly. Hopefully, it won’t. And hopefully, Washington will come out and surprise the fans and play very well and make things competitive. Maybe Haskins will take a step forward or some of the young, talented offensive weapons will ball out. Or maybe the defense will find the key to slowing down Lamar Jackson.

For now, I just don’t see it. Washington is a bit beat-up injury-wise and the Ravens are coming off an embarrassing Monday Night Football loss to the Chiefs. They’re going to be motivated to win this game and they could smell blood in the water early.

Washington better get started quickly in this contest. Otherwise, they’re unlikely to stand a chance against one of the NFL’s top-class teams.

Next. Three keys to Dwayne Haskins' improvement. dark

Final Score: Ravens 37, Washington 15
