2. CB Kendall Fuller

After nearly being cleared to play last week for Washington, it looks like Kendall Fuller will make his season debut against the Browns. That means that he will be suiting up for Washington for the first time since the 2017 season.

Fuller was a very good slot-man the past two years with the Chiefs and he figures to be an upgrade for Washington in that area. Jimmy Moreland had been kicking inside to play there early in the season and while he did well in that role, Fuller’s presence will allow him a chance to play outside and strengthen Washington’s defense as a whole.

It will be interesting to see how the cornerback rotation shakes out with Fuller returning. He will play on the outside in base defensive packages, but once he kicks inside, Washington will have a choice about who to play outside.

One would assume that Moreland will lock down one of the spots because of his play to start the season. Elsewhere, Fabian Moreau has outplayed Ronald Darby to start the year, but it’s unclear who Washington would prefer to keep on the field. The team could also opt to rotate all four of their top corners and move Fuller around as a versatile secondary weapon, so there are quite a few options for the team.

Either way, this will be the first time we get a look at Washington’s starting secondary fully healthy. That should tell us quite a bit about the ceiling of this unit and which players should be kept around and trusted in bigger roles moving forward.
