Positive 1

Terry McLaurin is an excellent receiver and he will only get better.  Washington is very fortunate to have found him in the third round of the 2019 draft.

McLaurin has a realistic chance to set a number of WFT records if he spends his career wearing the Burgundy and Gold.  Guess who had the most yards after a catch on Sunday?

McLaurin had seven receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals.  He is currently on pace for 96 receptions, 1,448 yards, and eight touchdowns in 2020.  That is Pro Bowl production and possibly All-Pro as well.  How do you like him now?  Was that good value in the third round last year?

Negative 1

Troy Apke is struggling so much after the first two games this season.  Is it time to give Kamren Curl more time on the field or is it time to look at some free agents?  Well, the free-agent pool is not the best at this time of year, so it is probably time to get Kurl some reps very soon.

Apke is simply not the answer at free safety and if Washington can have some positive impacts from Kurl or elsewhere, then it is time to place Apke on the bench.  The former Penn State free safety is a liability in coverage and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he will give up five or more pass plays of more than 50 yards this year – maybe as many as eight such plays.  Frankly, that is unacceptable.
