Score prediction

The Week 1 win for Washington was nothing short of excellent. Their drive and determination to make the full comeback and deliver the win certainly inspired hope that they have a bright future under Ron Rivera.

That said, this matchup just seems like one that will be too tough for them to emerge victoriously in. The Cardinals match up well with Washington on defense. They’ll be able to get pressure on Haskins with Chandler Jones and should be able to limit McLaurin.

On the other side of the ball, Washington is ill-equipped to deal with a multi-faceted passing attack. Their defensive line may be able to level the playing field, but Murray’s mobility may be able to neutralize the effectiveness of that unit.

The coaching matchup is pretty neutral. Both Rivera and Kingsbury are executing the visions they have for their respective teams well, but Rivera is entering just his second game in Washington. Kingsbury’s rebuild is further along, and Arizona is coming off a win over the defending NFC champions. They’re more ready for this spot than Washington is.

I expect Washington to come back to earth a bit this week. That’s not a bad thing, as they have a bright future. They just still have to have a few things come together before they can beat a team like the Cardinals that can attack their weaknesses so well.
