3. Don’t let Carson Wentz extend plays with his legs

Over the last couple of seasons, when healthy, Wentz has shown the ability to extend plays when the pocket breaks down. He can also run for the first down to keep drives going. His athleticism gets overlooked far too often, and it shouldn’t.

The Washington Football Team defensive line is incredibly athletic and has the talent to be the best unit in the league. They must play up to that talent or Wentz will make them pay again.

In the two games last season against Washington, Wentz was 58-82 for 579 yards, six touchdowns, and no interceptions. He was generally comfortable in the pocket and made the plays he needed to keep drives going.

That can’t happen in this game. Look for new defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio to generate pressure and find ways to get to Wentz and keep him contained. If the talented defensive line can do this and minimize the damage Wentz does with his legs, it will help out a banged-up secondary and slow down the Philly offense.
