Running Backs

Roster Locks: Adrian Peterson, Antonio Gibson, J.D. McKissic

Adrian Peterson, Antonio Gibson, and J.D. McKissic are all one-hundred percent roster locks for different reasons. Peterson has been the team’s lead back for two years now, and while he’s not incredibly efficient, he’s still durable and dependable when the team needs some production.

Antonio Gibson, meanwhile, is the team’s third-round rookie; he’s not going anywhere. Gibson might not have a ton of volume at the start of the regular season, but Scott Turner has been playing him anywhere and everywhere in camp, and that versatility will be valuable down the stretch.

Similarly, J.D. McKissic is a former wide receiver turned running back, and he has a strong receiving background that’ll also allow him to provide that kind of position-less versatility. For that reason, he’s a lock, even if he might not have the name recognition to accompany that status.

Bryce Love is the likely fourth running back, but he’s not a lock just yet. He and Peyton Barber are still battling for that spot.
