Round 7

Was Virginia Tech becoming the new Alabama Crimson Tide? The front office chose to add Virginia Tech cornerback Greg Stroman with the first of two picks in the final round. It was the third player chosen from the Hokies defense in 2018. Stroman had a very good first season, especially on special teams. For a seventh rounder, he has been a solid pick.

Trey Quinn was taken with the last pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and that makes him “Mr. Irrelevant”, but he has been more than relevant in Washington. He has battled injuries, especially in his first year. Last season, he hauled in 26 receptions in just 12 games. If Quinn can stay healthy in 2020, he could have a breakout season.

The seventh round was very good to the WFT in 2018 — a nice change for once. If both of these players continue to improve, they could provide excellent value and solid depth for many years to come.
