Re-grading the Washington Football Team’s 2018 NFL Draft performance
Round 3
Looking to bolster the depth of their offensive line, particularly at swing tackle, WFT added Louisville left tackle Geron Christian early in the third round.
Christian is entering his third season, and quite frankly, he has not lived up to the expectations that were placed on him in 2018. Adding depth on the offensive line in the third round is a sound strategy for any team and Christian was selected where most pundits thought he would be chosen — in the early to middle portion of this round.
The former Cardinal is still very young and there is time to turn his career around, but this is the season when it will need to happen. Christian has the size (6’6”, 315), but he lacks focus and the mean streak that you like to see in a tackle. Ereck Flowers turned his career around in Washington and this is the time for Geron Christian to do the same. For now, our grade is harsh, but it is honest and fair.
