2020 Outlook: Last season, many thought that Hamilton would emerge as Washington’s second starting linebacker next to Bostic. Instead, Holcomb got that role and Hamilton played the role of a top backup.

Hamilton was excellent in that capacity and made several game-changing plays. But in 2020, his goal will be to emerge as a starter.

Expected Role: Future starter, current backup. Hamilton could easily take over for either Bostic or Davis should they struggle in the early stages of the season. He’s a smart player with a solid skillset, but it will be tough to beat the veterans off the bat. But his goal should be to emerge as a starter by the end of the season.

Status: Hamilton seems safe at the moment. He was a valuable backup last season and will turn just 25 on eve of the season. His time to have a bigger role will come soon, especially as he continues to get healthier after an injury-plagued final collegiate season.
