Positional Outlook

This defensive tackle group is one of the best in football. There’s no question about it. Any team would be lucky to have this collection of players.

What will be interesting to see is how Rivera and Del Rio opt to utilize these players. They are uniquely positioned to maximize the specific skill sets of three well-rounded players and a terrific backup tackle. If all four can get into a rotation, opposing offensive lines will have trouble blocking late in games because so many of those interior rushers will be fresh.

Additionally, Rivera and Del Rio will have the option of shifting some of these players outside. Guys like Allen and Bee have inside/outside versatility, so that could give the team some opportunities to play heavy formations and really clamp down on the run.

The depth here will get interesting with Brantley out. But Bee is a quality young player that could emerge. And if he can fill out his 6-foot-7 frame and find a way to produce on the edge and the interior… look out. The team could have another diamond in the rough.

You will not find a better group on the Washington Football Team than the defensive line group. It’s not particularly close, either.  So long as their top options stay healthy, this unit will be in great shape for the 2020 NFL season.
