Caleb Brantley

Experience: 4th season

Draft Status: 2017 sixth-round pick, 185th overall

2019 Stats: One game, no statistics accrued

2020 Outlook: Brantley played in just one game during the 2019 season while dealing with a foot/ankle injury that sidelined him early in the year. For 2020, he was supposed to be another depth piece across the team’s talented defensive line, but he decided to opt-out of the season.

Brantley’s contract will toll and he will still be under contract in Washington next year. That’s when the soon-to-be 26-year-old will next get a chance to make an impact and prove that he deserves a roster spot.

Expected Role: Before Brantley opted out, he was supposed to be the team’s fifth defensive tackle behind Allen, Payne, Ioannidis, and Settle. Now, the team will have to find another alternative if they want to carry a fifth tackle.

Status: Inactive. As stated above, Brantley will return to action in 2021. At that point, he’ll have a chance to compete for a roster spot but it may not be as secure-looking as his presence figured to be this year.
