Hale Hentges

Experience: 2nd season

Draft Status: 2019 undrafted free agent

2019 Stats: 11 games (four starts), eight catches, 103 yards, one touchdown

2020 Outlook: Hentges impressed in limited action after being claimed off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts early last season. He showcased soft hands, solid blocking skills, and a well-rounded arsenal of skills that should make him a high-floor option at tight end.

Considering that Hentges has yet to turn 24, he still has a lot of upside. He could easily continue to grow and with such a strong foundation in place, his growth in the NFL should be steady.

Expected Role: Hentges figures to be either the No. 2 or No. 3 tight end depending on what unfolds in front of him. He probably represents the best-rounded option on the roster and could see plenty of snaps in rotation with the likes of Thomas and Sprinkle.

Status: Like Sprinkle, Hentges isn’t a roster lock, but he’s certainly inside of the bubble right now. He has such a high floor and should be a solid backup at the position at the very least. Hentges will need to impress the new coaching staff but that should be doable for the skilled player.
