Overall

The 2017 draft was a fairly good success, especially in the first and sixth rounds. If the fourth round had been better, the Washington football team would’ve enjoyed better marks overall. The good news is that there were no failing grades for any of the rounds with this draft class. Four of the players — Anderson, Moreau, Sprinkle, and Harvey-Clemons — could raise the grade substantially in the coming years, but we must rate on the production to date thus far.

We have two more drafts to grade as our summer series begins to wind down. The 2018 draft analysis is coming soon, and the finale, 2019, will post shortly thereafter. Was the 2017 draft a positive turning point for the Washington football team? The overall grade could’ve been better, but it is far from the disasters that we have seen in this series. The 2017 Washington draft is encouraging and the grades could actually improve in the future.
