Round 2

In the second round, the Washington football team decided to tap into that Crimson Tide defense once again by choosing outside linebacker Ryan Anderson. It seemed like a reach as most scouts and draft analysts thought he was a third-round prospect at best.

Anderson struggled in his first season, but he has made steady gains since then and has a knack for making key plays at critical points in a game. Anderson has also found a niche on offense — coming into a game as a wide-bodied fullback on short yardage and goal line formations.  If his improvements continue, he could have a productive 2020.

However, the grades are not based on future potential and we only consider production to date.  Anderson’s first two years indicate that the third-round grade was likely quite accurate and a case can be made for placing a fourth-round grade on him in 2017.  We can’t hate on the pick too much and this grade may improve in the future.
