1. Malik Turner

If Washington wants to continue to add to their youth at the receiver position, they could opt to sign one of the few young players remaining on the market. Malik Turner, 24, certainly has upside and could pan out if given a chance to prove himself.

Turner came out of Illinois and has spent two professional seasons as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. In 2019, the 6-2, 206-pound pass-catcher caught 15 passes for 245 yards (16.3 yards per catch average) and a touchdown. He was a good deep threat and had he played more than 21 percent of the team’s snaps, he could’ve had a better season.

Of course, Turner may be remembered more for a critical drop he had against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. He was wide open for a first down late in the game but couldn’t corral the Russell Wilson pass. The ugly drop ended up costing the Seahawks as the Packers would go on to hold the ball for the rest of the game after the Seattle drive stalled.

Still, one mistake shouldn’t be allowed to categorize Turner’s entire career. He had some bright moments last year and if he works on his hands, he could be a solid backup. At the very least, he could challenge for a role on the 53-man roster. So, Washington would be wise to scoop him up now and hope they find a diamond in the rough.

There’s no guarantee that Washington will make any signings at the receiver position. They may be happy to stick with the guys they have and give some of the younger players like Isaiah Wright, Johnathon Johnson, and Darvin Kidsy a chance to compete for the sixth roster spot. But if they do decide to add depth, the guys listed here seem like the most logical targets.
