Overall

The 2015 draft was the best in many years for the Redskins.  It wasn’t perfect and the team brain trust outsmarted themselves twice.  That is poor management and a demonstration of substandard evaluation skills – unforgivable at this level.

That being said, the team produced major hits with Scherff, Smith, Crowder, and Jarrett (even if his career ended way too early).  Spaight was a decent fifth-round addition.

Reiter could’ve provided excellent value in the last round, but the mistake was made and that killed any chance of having a solid grade.  The Jarrett injury was rotten luck.  The busts (Jones, Kouandjio, Mitchel, and Spencer) lower the grade somewhat further, but this draft did have plenty of positives.

The Redskins did win the NFC East in 2015, but lost in the first round of the playoffs.  Another solid draft in 2016 could turn the Redskins into consistent winners as fans were encouraged with the results in 2015.  In the coming days, we will take a look at the 2016 draft and see if the momentum would continue.
