No. 1 – Los Angeles Rams CB Jalen Ramsey

Ever since he entered the league in 2016, Jalen Ramsey has been regarded as one of the best, most talented cornerbacks in the business. Ramsey was an All-Pro by his second season, and while he had a down year in 2019, he still only allowed one touchdown, and didn’t allow any scores after being traded to the Rams before midseason.

Ramsey will be 26 by the time he hits free agency next year, and still very much in his prime. It seems like a good time to remind readers of Ramsey’s NFL Combine performance before the 2016 NFL Draft, in which Ramsey, at 6-foot-1, 208, logged a 4.41 40-yard dash, a 41-inch vertical, and a broad jump over 11 feet. He’s a top-flight athlete, with the length and ball skills to match.

Ramsey is a vocal player, which has caused his personality to come under fire at times. But No. 1 cornerbacks are supposed to have the confidence that Ramsey has, and he’s always produced to back up his talk.

The Redskins could use an alpha cornerback like Ramsey, and in free agency next offseason, they’ll have more than enough money to be the highest bidders for him, if they choose to do so.
