Week 12: Redskins @ Cowboys

Speaking of important divisional games on Thanksgiving, this Redskins vs. Cowboys match up could be one of the more important games of the season.

To this point in the season, the Redskins would have already played four of their six divisional games of the season. And the lone post-Thanksgiving NFC East game would be a Week 17 clash with the Philadelphia Eagles.

If Washington could manage to win at least two of their divisional games before Thanksgiving, then this matchup could be what stands between them being at least 50 percent of the games in their division.

This is also an important game for the ‘Skins because while they will not have any prime time games, this Thanksgiving game against a division rival is the next best thing. If the Redskins can beat one of the most talented rosters in the NFC on Thanksgiving Day, it will show that the future of the franchise is in good hands.

After this divisional game, the Redskins have a tough stretch of opponents in the following weeks playing the Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks. If the Redskins are handed a bad loss on Thanksgiving day from a divisional rival, that may not bode well for their confidence going into this rough three-game stretch.
