Round 1, Pick 2: Chase Young, EDGE, Ohio State

If you’ve read any of the mock drafts here on Riggo’s Rag, every single one will have Chase Young being selected at No. 2. If they don’t, please message me on Twitter and send me the link so I can talk to the writer who published the piece.

Chase Young is the guy. He is the pick. It’s simple. Go to your YouTube app, just watch a 10 minute highlight video of Young’s junior season at the Ohio State University, thank me later.

The 6-foot-5 phenom should he live up to the perennial All-Pro standards placed upon him. He should be the greatest pass-rusher in Redskins history with the potential to become one of the greatest Washington Redskins ever.

One of the most dynamic pass-rushers in years, Chase Young will become a perennial Pro-Bowl talent in this league. The Redskins must take Young at No. 2 as he’ll make an impact on games that hasn’t been seen for the home team at FedEx Field for the past several years.

I can list you the numerous awards that Chase Young swept last season in college football, I can break down his game, his perfect technique, the ability to play the run and rush the passer at an elite level, and the versatility he brings as an edge and outside linebacker.

That wouldn’t do it enough justice. Sometimes, football is that easy. You see a guy dominate for the past couple of seasons, and be the best at his position by a mile last season, it’s easy to come to this conclusion.
