Round 4 – LSU OT Saahdiq Charles – 6’4″, 320

Saahdiq Charles has been quite busy this offseason as he has added about 25 pounds of bulk and muscle to his frame. The biggest complaint from scouts regarding Charles was his lack of strength, but an offseason regimen has those same scouts re-assessing that evaluation.

Charles is mobile and while some of his techniques need minor adjustments, this determined Cajun County Bayou Bengal is definitely ready for life at the next level. He could become a starter by midseason or possibly sooner. Charles does come with some character issues after missing a few games in 2019, but those concerns are behind him now.

Round 4 Comp Pick – St. John OT Ben Bartch – 6’6”, 310

Hey, who is Ben Bartch? He’s an offensive tackle. Where did he play college ball? St. John – in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He’s solid and highly underrated. Bartch has all of the intangibles to succeed in the NFL as a tackle, but will need time to learn the nuances of the position – left side or right side.

Bartch started his football life as a high school tight end in Oregon and wasn’t highly recruited.  He changed positions at St. John and prospered. Bartch is a quick learner and could be a legitimate starter within a year, maybe sooner. He continues to add to his lanky frame and will probably gain another ten to twenty pounds of muscle.
