. Cornerback. Kansas City Chiefs. Trevon Diggs. 32. player. 124

Last season, the Chiefs had one of the more underrated cornerback groups in the NFL with Bashaud Breeland, Kendall Fuller, and Charvarius Ward all playing well en route to a Super Bowl title. While the Chiefs are bringing back Breeland and Ward, Fuller joined the Redskins this offseason. So, the team will have to add another option to their secondary as a result.

Perhaps the team would want more of a traditional slot-man, but Diggs is the best player on the board and he could’ve gone as early as 19 in this mock.

The brother of Stefon Diggs has a 6-foot-2 frame and grabbed three picks last season for Alabama and was great in coverage. The converted wide receiver is still developing at corner, but he has shown an ability to stay with his opponent and can think like a receiver. Having him, Breeland, and Ward will give the team three strong corners and may afford Rashad Fenton a chance to challenge for a role in the slot.

Given that Breeland is on a one-year deal, Diggs could challenge him for the starting job but if he’s not ready as a rookie, he’ll be an excellent part-time player. And when Breeland’s deal is up, Diggs will be ready to step in and surely has the upside and tools of a top corner.
