15. player. 45. . Wide Receiver. Denver Broncos. Henry Ruggs

Every time I do a mock, it seems that there’s a run on players from a certain school. This time, three Alabama players come off the board in three picks. Go figure.

This is another one of the obvious fits that everyone is talking about. The Broncos have a good top receiver in Courtland Sutton. Aside from him, however, they don’t have a lot of receiver talent. Henry Ruggs would change that.

Ruggs is the fastest receiver in this class and was a big-time playmaker at Alabama. He caught 40 passes for 746 yards and seven touchdowns for an average of 18.7 yards per catch in his final season for the Crimson Tide. He was one of Tua Tagovailoa’s favorite weapons and for the next level, he has the potential to be a true burner and No. 1 receiver.

While Ruggs’ speed (4.27 40-yard dash) is his most talked about skill, he’s a very good route runner as well. He knows how to use his route running, quickness, and speed to create space and separation and that should make him a threat to be productive at the next level in more ways than one. In short, he’s not just a deep threat.

Pairing Ruggs with Sutton and last year’s first-round pick, Noah Fant, would give Drew Lock three great passing weapons to join Phillip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon in a well-balanced offense. Ruggs may not ultimately make it to 15 on draft day, but you can bet that John Elway and the Broncos are holding out hope that he’ll be available.
