player. 28. . Wide Receiver. Las Vegas Raiders. CeeDee Lamb. 12

It’s strange that just about a year ago at this time, the then-Oakland Raiders traded for Antonio Brown and thought they had found their No. 1 receiver for at least a few seasons.

Then, everything spiraled out of control for Brown. The Raiders cut him before he ever played with the team and he suited up for one game with the New England Patriots before being cut in the wake of sexual assault allegations. He remains unsigned at this point and it remains to be seen if another NFL team will give him a chance after his antics with the Raiders and off-the-field concerns.

Now, the Raiders are in Las Vegas and they are set to add another receiver to a group that has talent but is lacking a true No. 1 option. CeeDee Lamb would give them just that.

Lamb is a big-bodied receiver at 6-foot-2, 198 pounds who was very productive at Oklahoma. He had consecutive seasons with at least 1,100-plus yards and 11-plus touchdowns while serving as as playmaking threat for three different quarterbacks (Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts) during his career.

Lamb is great in space thanks to his size and with the ball in his hands, he can make men miss. He finds pockets of space easily and simply knows how to navigate them. And though he only has 4.5 speed, he still makes huge plays deep because of his size and ability to change speeds to create separation.

For the Raiders, Lamb would complement Tyrell Williams, another big-bodied receiver with speed, and Hunter Renfrow, a smaller slot receiver with hands like glue, very well. He’d be the every down threat, Williams would be the explosive downfield playmaker, and Renfrow would be the safety valve. And when factoring in Darren Waller at tight end, the team would be in solid shape with receiving weapons.

The Raiders could also consider Jerry Jeudy or Henry Ruggs here. Any of the top receivers make sense. But at the moment, Lamb just seems like the best option for the team.
