15. . Linebacker. New Orleans Saints. Patrick Queen. 24. player

Ian: After signing Emmanuel Sanders in free agency, the New Orleans Saints have two needs that are clearly above the rest, in terms of time-sensitivity. Both needs rest on the defensive side of the ball: Cornerback and linebacker.

The Saints offense is set for another year of playoff contention, but the defense needs an influx of talent, and with the Saints possessing only five picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, they’ll need to make their first-round selection count.

LSU’s Patrick Queen is a good pick here, and one that also happens to fulfill the hometown storyline. Queen was a standout for the Tigers in 2019, displaying excellent athletic potential, competitive toughness, and solidity as a tackler down the stretch. He brings the mentality of MIKE linebacker, while also possessing the physical attributes to be a rangy compliment, and that versatility could be valuable for New Orleans.
