2020 NFL Mock Draft: Dueling GMs mock sees Redskins make big move
By Ian Cummings
Ian: After letting Desmond Trufant go in free agency, the Atlanta Falcons could use another top-end talent at the cornerback position. Cornerback is one of the most important positions in the modern NFL, and in this class, with plenty of elite physical upside to go around, no price is too steep.
Here at No. 16, Florida’s C.J. Henderson is an excellent pick for the Falcons, as he possesses a very enticing athletic profile. At 6-foot-1, 207, he logged a 4.39 40-yard dash time and a 37.5-inch vertical at the 2020 NFL Combine. His speed and burst show up on tape, as he’s a very explosive player, with the capability to close windows very quickly.
Henderson also has great length for his athleticism, and while he’s still a bit raw in terms of employing his traits, he offers an athletic foundation higher than almost any other cornerback in the 2020 NFL Draft. For the Falcons, who desperately need talent on the back end, that’s a good thing to add.
