Adding weapons is of the utmost importance for the Green Bay Packers, who struggled to get consistency from their receiving core in 2019. Aaron Rodgers still has a few peak years left, so it’s important for Matt LaFleur to maximize that opportunity.

One could argue that Colorado’s Laviska Shenault isn’t the best fit for the Packers’ contention window, but he is a talented, athletic receiver with the immediate utility after the catch to perhaps make Rodgers’ job easier, and build off of the veteran quarterback’s success.

Shenault leaves something to be desired on tape with his relative lack of polish, both as a route runner and against press coverage. But his traits in open field and as a runner against contact stand out, and speak to the upside he has as an offensive weapon, if he can be developed. For the Packers, making life easier on Rodgers is the most important thing at this stage, and that’s something Shenault can help with.
