Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tristan Wirfs. 14. player. 48. . Offensive Tackle

Tampa Bay is only a few pieces away from completing their offense. They need to settle on their quarterback, though my money is on the team signing Philip Rivers in free agency. Rivers just moved his family to Florida, isn’t returning to the Chargers, and would get to work with an excellent offense with the Bucs, so they really should sign him if they can.

The second biggest need is running back. Ronald Jones and Peyton Barber were both pedestrian, so trusting either seems less than ideal.

And finally, right tackle could be a need if 34-year-old Demar Dotson leaves in free agency. Dotson has long been a quality starter, but he may not have a lot left in the tank. And Tristan Wirfs would be a good replacement.

Wirfs is a really great tackle that played on the right side at Iowa. He would be a natural fit at that position in Tampa. While he did have some issues against quicker edge rushers, Wirfs is a mauler in the run game and has great size at 6-foot-5, 322 pounds. He’d be a good alternative to Dotson or a potential successor and elite swing tackle if Dotson returns on a short-term deal.

The Bucs could also consider some options on the defensive side of the ball, as they need some safety help, some edge rushers if they can’t retain Shaq Barrett and Carl Nassib, and some defensive linemen to flank Vita Vea. But Wirfs is probably the best player on the board at a position of need, so he should be the pick here.
