Conor Forrest: QB Joe Burrow, LSU

In the case that the No. 2 overall pick doesn’t end up being former Ohio State stud Chase Young, the Redskins are left with one of two pretty good options. They are either left with a cargo ship full of draft picks from a team willing to trade up to the No. 2 spot, or the opportunity to select LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.

In that case, I’m taking Joe Burrow every single time.

Burrow may be the most pro-ready NFL prospect the league has seen in the past decade. Even with the development of young quarterback Dwayne Haskins, Burrow is the kind of player that can shift a franchise’s trajectory.

If the Redskins land Burrow with the second pick, they can trade Dwayne Haskins for a number of picks to build their offense around. Either way, the Redskins have set themselves up nicely for the weeks to come preparing for the draft and the No. 2 overall pick.

That said, if Young is on the board, you take him right away and don’t even think about it.
