No. 5 – South Team CB Kindle Vildor

The Redskins won’t say they have a need at cornerback, but the fact of the matter is, Fabian Moreau is still very much an unknown quantity, and the same can be said for those behind him. Quinton Dunbar had a very good 2019 season, but his injury concerns also spell some doubt for the position group moving forward.

It’s unlikely that the Redskins pick a cornerback in Round 1, but luckily for them, the 2020 NFL Draft is very deep at the position, and quality players will be had later on. One such player who helped himself on Sunday was South Team cornerback Kindle Vildor.

Over his three-year career as a full-time starter at Georgia Southern, Vildor displayed impressive ball skills for his 5-foot-11, 190-pound frame, logging nine interceptions and 33 pass deflections in those seasons. At the Senior Bowl, he reinforced his reputation as a defender with a nose for the ball, beautifully snatching a high pass from Shea Patterson in the first half.

Vildor has the speed to stick with receivers, the attitude to maintain his presence amidst adversity, and solid proportionate length for his size, which he can use to make plays. Given his thin frame and level of competition, he’s a likely Day 3 pick, but he’s the kind of target the Redskins could gain from acquiring that late.
