Simulating the Washington Redskins’ free agency, NFL draft, entire 2020 offseason
Wrap Up
Overall, this would be a solid offseason for the Redskins. In particular, their defense would look a lot stronger than it previously did thanks to the additions of Jack Del Rio, Chase Young, James Bradberry, and Tre Boston. And the switch to a 4-3 could really spark life into the potential-packed unit.
On offense, things are a bit less certain. The tackle position is still unsettled unless Trent Williams comes back. Perhaps grabbing a more NFL-ready tackle than Prince Tego Wanogho would be smart, but it all depends on who’s on the board in the third round if the team can’t recoup a second-round selection.
The receiving corps looks stronger with the additions of Mims and Sanders. Again, there’s a case to be made for adding either Cooper or Anderson instead of Sanders, but I thought the combination of cost and risk made Sanders the better fit.
And at tight end, having Austin Hooper will certainly be a massive upgrade over what they’ve had at the position in recent seasons.
There are a lot of ways that the Redskins could go this offseason regarding their personnel. And under Rivera, decisions will start to be made soon. But in all likelihood, things will start with Trent Williams. And the trickle-down of that decision will have an impact on the rest of Washington’s offseason decisions.
