1. CB James Bradberry

The Redskins don’t just have a need for a counterpart to Landon Collins. They may also need a true No. 2 cornerback for their defense. Or a guy who can make their corners 1A and 1B options.

While Fabian Moreau played better down the stretch for Washington, he was still inconsistent during the season. He flashed a couple of times as a starter on the outside, but is it enough for the team to entrust him with the No. 2 role? It’s a bit risky to trust him and he may be better served as a backup.

James Bradberry would be a more trustworthy option and would be an excellent complement to Quinton Dunbar. Bradberry is a physical, 6-foot-1 corner who has been a solid starter for the Panthers since being a second-round pick out of Samford.

During Bradberry’s career, he has played in 60 of 64 games (all starts) and has consistently made plays on the ball. He has defended at least 10 passes in each of his four seasons and has eight interceptions, including a career-high three in 2019.

Bradberry’s physicality would afford him the opportunity to add a new dimension to the Redskins defense. He could help provide a physical element in the secondary which is, ironically, what the Redskins were hoping they’d get the last time they signed a corner over from the Panthers (Josh Norman). And when Norman played with that solid physicality in his first two years with the team, he definitely helped make an impact on defense.

It just seems that Bradberry could fit with the ‘Skins. He’d give them two really strong starters on the outside and would reunite with Ron Rivera, who seemingly liked Bradberry during his time with the Panthers. He just complements this team very well, so it will be interesting to see if the Redskins do target the 26-year-old in free agency.
