Redskins Reality Checks – No news from owners meetings

2. The Reality Is, the defense has been coming on.
With 17 sacks and seven turnovers in their last three games, the Redskins defense has started to look like the unit many predicted they would be before the season started. It’s too bad they didn’t reach this form earlier in the season, but they are formidable at this point.
Any fan paying attention can tell that this surge coincides with some significant improvements in the creativity of the defensive play calling. More exoctic blitzes and blitz looks combined with simpler secondary schemes have led to this dramatic improvement, along with grumbling that Manusky didn’t make those adjustments sooner in his tenure with the team.
My Prediction: The inability to finish sacks against Aaron Rodgers killed the Redskins last week, and Carson Wentz has plagued the Redskins with his escapability. Don’t expect high sack totals this week.
