4. Redskins must limit the Eagles’ tight ends

The Eagles have one of the best pass-catching tight ends in the NFL in Zach Ertz. He was on full display Monday night, hauling in nine passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns. If Ertz wasn’t enough to deal with, they also have Dallas Goedert, who had three receptions for 41 yards against the Giants. He has 40 receptions for almost 400 yards and four touchdowns on the season, so the Eagles are getting excellent production from their second tight end.

In the Week 1 game, Ertz had a decent day, catching five of seven targets for 54 yards. Goedert had two receptions for 16 yards. DeSean Jackson was the one who did all the damage (eight catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns) but is out for the season, as is Alshon Jeffery. With them out, expect Wentz to be looking for his tight ends even more on Sunday. Cole Holcomb must be ready in the middle.

If the Redskins can limit Ertz and Goedert, it will help slow down the Eagles’ offense. Washington has had trouble covering tight ends pretty much all season, so it’s not going to be easy. If they are unable to stop Ertz, and he has a game like the one Monday night, Philly will likely roll again.
