Redskins studs and duds from Week 13 win over Carolina

Dud No. 3 – The onside kick coverage
The Panthers shouldn’t have been in the game as long as they were, but after a late fourth-quarter touchdown to make the score 29-21, the Panthers opted to execute an onside kick, in order to get the ball back.
When the Panthers kicked the ball off, the Redskins coverage team made no collective effort to recover the football, and it wound up in the hands of a Panthers player with a strikingly low amount of accompanying struggle.
In fairness to the Redskins, onside kicks are a rarity, especially for a team that often finds itself down in these situations. But in the NFL, players have to be ready for any and all situations, and they have to be active, especially in the later parts of the game, when so much is on the line. If the Redskins find themselves in this situation again this year, they should be motivated to get the ball back.
